Thermal and mechanical activation of magnetic nanoparticles as anti-cancer strategy
A combination of experimental and theoretical techniques for the thermaland mechanical activation of MNPsis being developed. Simultaneously, regarding magneto-mechanical stressdifferent magnetic field configurations with MNPs allow them to undergo cellular damage only on malignant cells.Two aspects of field parameters are studied: the use of pulsed instead of alternating magnetic field, as well as the movement of the magnetic field source relative to the biological sample in order to reduce the side effects i.e. reduction of eddy currents.
